Thanks to a generous 2024 Platte County Outreach Grant, the City of Houston Lake is excited to announce the installation of our City Park playground expansion—bringing new toddler equipment and swings to create a welcoming play space for children of all ages.
What to Expect
Installation will take place in three phases beginning Monday, April 14:
🛠️ Day One – April 14 (Monday)
Playground Installations, the contracted installer, will begin work by:
- Setting swing supports into the ground
- Pouring concrete piers for the new teeter duo and spring rider
- Relocating the trash receptacle
- Preparing the play pit with timber edging, weed mat, and mulch
Mulch delivery is expected that day, with the drop-off location determined by the delivery driver’s access—either along the street or in the City Hall parking lot. Crews will be active between the City Hall parking lot and the City Park across Adrian Avenue for approximately 2–4 hours. We appreciate your patience with any temporary disruptions and ask that drivers and pedestrians use extra caution in the area during this time.
🗑️ Day Two – April 15 (Tuesday)
A dumpster will be placed in the City Hall lot for disposal of packaging and construction materials related to the playground installation.
Please note: This dumpster is for official use only.
It is not for community disposal, and signs will be posted accordingly.
🎉 Final Day – April 21 or 22 (Monday or Tuesday, weather permitting)
After allowing time for the concrete footings to cure, the installation team will return to:
- Hang the swings
- Mount the teeter duo and spring rider
The playground expansion will be available for review by our youngest constituents as soon as the swings and toddler play fixtures are up.
