City Council Meeting Minutes

The budget meeting of the City Council Meeting of Houston Lake, MO, was called to order by Mayor Pro Tem Ashley Fuglestad at 6:40 PM.

On roll call, the following members were present: Mayor Pro Tem / Alderman Ashley Fuglestad (Acting Mayor), Alderman Keith Carey, Alderman Sarah Loring, and Alderman Teena Walker-Robin.

Agenda for 06/26/2024 Budget Meeting
Loring moved to approve the agenda for the 06/26/24 Budget Meeting. Carey 2nd. A voice vote resulted in unanimous approval.

Packets containing the revised 2024-2025 Budget Worksheet were distributed. Kay Honeycutt, Bookkeeper, was invited to participate remotely for assistance with the budget discussion. It was clarified that since the last meeting, adjustments had been made to the original worksheet incorporating changes requested at the June 12 budget meeting, and including unencumbered funds available. This updated version was intended to encompass all financial responsibilities for further budget deliberation. During the discussion, suggestions were made to reorganize and consolidate some accounts, with additional changes proposed. It was recommended that Walker-Robin, Honeycutt, and Shepard collaborate on further updates to the worksheet based on the items discussed. Fuglestad expressed hope that the Council could vote on the 2024-2025 budget on the day of the July Council meeting, contingent upon timely notice to the community.

Loring moved to adjourn the budget meeting. Walker-Robin 2nd. A voice vote resulted in unanimous approval.
