Enhancing Safety and Community Spirit

Exciting updates regarding our 2023 Outreach Grant project! The stars have aligned and the project is finally approaching implementation. The grant will be used to resurface the city play area with updated rubber mulch to the recommended depth.

Safety First: Why the Recommended Depth Matters

The safety of our children is our top priority, which is why we’re resurfacing our play area with rubber mulch. The recommended depth isn’t just a guideline; it’s a crucial element in ensuring the well-being of our little ones. It provides a cushioned surface that minimizes the risk of injuries during play, making the playground a safer and more enjoyable place for all.

Project Completion Date: November 1, 2023

Mark your calendars! The work on our play area will be completed by November 1, 2023. This means that our children will soon have a safer and more inviting space to play, just in time for the cooler months ahead.

Community Involvement: A Labor of Love

There’s more to this project than meets the eye. We saved $1,200 by providing the labor to spread the mulch. This not only demonstrates our dedication to our community but also improves our chances of securing future grants.

Join the Mulch Spreading Party!

To celebrate this fantastic achievement and foster a sense of community spirit, we’re inviting all residents to a Mulch Spreading Party in mid to late October. This event promises to be a fun and memorable way to come together and make our play area safer for our children.

  • Date: Mid to Late October (Stay tuned for the exact date!)
  • Location: Play Area in City Park across Adrian from City Hall
  • Refreshments: The Ministry of Merriment (MoM), will be on hand to provide cold drinks and popsicles for all our hardworking volunteers.

This is a chance for us to not only improve our community but also to connect with our neighbors and enjoy some quality time together. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or have never spread mulch in your life, your help and enthusiasm are invaluable.
